Arizona Author of the Year Awards

The Judy Goddard Awards are given every year to an outstanding writer or illustrator of books for children, and an author of Young Adult literature. The winners must either live in Arizona or have a close connection with the state. The prize is awarded jointly by Libraries, Ltd, an Arizona nonprofit organization founded by the then First Lady of Arizona and her friends in 1966 to promote literacy in children, and the Arizona Library Association.
